Society of Manufacturing Engineers
Headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, SME is an international professional
society, founded in 1932. SME has more than 70,000 members in 70 countries and sponsors over 300 chapters. SME is dedicated to the education of
engineering professionals.
American National Standards Institute
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), founded in 1918, is a
non-profit membership organization that is fully involved in its support of the goals of U.S. and global standardization.
American Society of Engineering & Education
ASEE plays a role in developing programs and policies that enable engineering
education and allied branches of science and technology to meet challenges of global competition. ASEE provides a link among educational institutes,
corporations and government agencies.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers
ASME, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is an organization for
promoting the art, science and practice of mechanical engineers throughout the world.
American Physical Society
The American Physical Society is an organization of more than 40,000 physicists
worldwide. Since its formation in 1899, it has been dedicated to the advancement
and diffusion of the knowledge of physics. The APS publishes some of the world's
leading physics research journals: the Physical Review series, Physical
Review Letters, and Reviews of Modern Physics. The APS organizes
scientific meetings where new results are reported and discussed. In addition to
these primary functions, the Society has other programs in areas such as
education, international affairs, public affairs and public information.
Association for Manufacturing Technology
The Association of Manufacturing Technology has been dedicated to
supporting and enhancing the activities of American manufacturers since its founding over 90 years ago.
The American Society of Testing Materials
Organized in 1898, ASTM has grown into one of the largest voluntary
standards development systems in the world. The ASTM is a not-for-profit
organization that provides a forum for those having general interest in writing
the standards for materials, products, systems and services.
International Disk Drive Equipment and Materials Association(IDEMA)
Was founded in 1986 to address the manufacturing, technological, marketing and
business needs of the magnetic disks drive industry. Today, IDEMA includes more
than 800 corporate members and organizes technical conferences, trade shows and
educational classes in Asia-Pacific, USA, and Japan.
Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers The worlds largest technical professional society. Founded in 1884, today's institute has more than 320,000 members whose goal is promoting the practice of electrical, electronics and computer engineering and computer science.
Instrument Society of America
ISA, the International Society for Measurement and Control is a non profit
engineering society with over 50,000 members for those involved with the
measurement and control process.
Materials Information Society
ASM International is the society for materials engineers, a worldwide network
dedicated to advancing industry, technology, and applications of metals and
materials.
Mechanical Contractors Association of America
Through education and training programs by MCAA, over 1,300 contractors
currently learn about the latest technological developments and business practices related to the field of mechanical contractors.
National Center for Manufacturing Sciences
The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences is a not for profit research
and development consortium of more than 220 North American corporations. Through NCMS, companies can team up on research projects that normally
would be too costly and time consuming to do themselves.
National Electrical Manufacturers Association
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association has been contributing to
the development of standards for the electrical manufacturing industry for
more than 70 years. NEMMA is headquartered in Roslyn, Virginia, and has
nearly 600 member companies.
National Electronics Manufacturing Initiative
NEMI is a private-public partnership focused on leveraging existing resources
for sustained growth of electronics manufacturing in the United States.
Optical Society of America
As an interdisciplinary society, OSA offers a unique synergy between all components of optics-from basic research to commercial
applications. OSA provides the opportunity to cooperate with others in your field, staying up-to-date on the breakthroughs leading to
tomorrow's technology. The Optical Society of America includes
professionals from the optics and
photonics community and provides the link to an international network of more
than 11,000 optical scientists, engineers and technicians in about 50 countries.
The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers
Was founded as the American Society of Lubrication Engineers (ASLE) in 1944 to advance the science and technology of lubrication (tribology).
The name was changed to the present title in 1987. STLE membership includes over 4400 individual and industrial members
from industry, academic institutions and government from more than 40 countries.
The National Storage Industry Consortium
NSIC consists of over 50 corporations, universities and national labs with interests in the field of digital information storage.
Corporate membership includes most major U.S. storage product manufacturers and many
other companies from the storage industry infrastructure. NSIC has its headquarters in
San Diego and was incorporated in April 1991 as a non-profit mutual benefit corporation.
