G Giga-, equals to 109.
G 9.8 kg/cm2. The measure of drive's shock resistance.  Drive's specification usually includes values for operational and non-operational shock (i.e., operating shock: 30 G @ 2 ms duration, and non-operating shock 250 G @ 2 ms duration).
GB (gigabyte) ~109 bytes or one billion bytes or 1,000 MB. In reality (binary capacity), 1 GB equals two to the thirtieth power or 1,073,741,842 bytes in decimal notation.
Gimbal (aka flexure), a part of the suspension (in the hard disk drive), with low roll and pitch stiffness, but high lateral and vertical stiffness. Used as a link between the slider and the suspension.
